  • Why I Love Sending My Clients to Suelto

By Susan Beth Breuner, Strong Confident Femininity Photography . In Bozeman, there’s a small but mighty boutique that quietly changes the way women see themselves. It’s called Suelto, and it’s owned by the incredible Sherri — a woman with an expert eye for detail, a deep understanding of fit, and a passion for helping women feel comfortable and beautiful in their own skin. As a boudoir photographer and founder of Strong Confident Femininity, I’ve seen firsthand how the right lingerie transforms not just a photograph, but a woman’s entire energy in front of the camera. And time after time, that transformation begins at Suelto. When a client walks into my studio wearing something she found at Suelto, I can tell immediately. The fit is flawless. The craftsmanship shows in every curve and seam. The fabrics — whether delicate French lace, whisper-soft silk, or bold strappy designs — capture light in a way that elevates every image. These pieces are made to celebrate the body, not to hide or reshape it. High-quality lingerie photographs beautifully because it’s designed with intention. It follows the lines of the body instead of fighting them. And when a woman feels supported and stunning in what she’s wearing, she shines — not just in her photos, but in how she carries herself. Each year, I make a trip to Suelto to choose a statement piece for my studio wardrobe — something unique, luxurious, and versatile that my clients can wear during their sessions. It’s one of the best business investments I make. These garments photograph beautifully, hold up through many sessions, and add that extra touch of elegance that defines the Strong Confident Femininity experience. But Suelto isn’t just a professional resource for me — it’s also a personal favorite. The bras I’ve purchased for myself there are, without exaggeration, the best fitting and highest quality I’ve ever owned. The difference they make is undeniable: my clothes fit better, I feel more put together, and there’s a quiet confidence that comes from knowing everything underneath is just right. Bozeman is lucky to have a shop like Suelto — a place where artistry, comfort, and confidence intersect. Whether you’re preparing for a boudoir session, refreshing your wardrobe, or simply wanting to feel more at home in your body, this little boutique offers something far beyond lingerie. It offers a way to see yourself differently. Discover Strong Confident Femininity in Bozeman A Note from Suelto: Reading Susan Beth's words reminds us why we do what we do. She writes about the transformation that happens when a woman walks into her studio wearing something from Suelto—and we see that same transformation happen in our fitting rooms every day. That moment when the right piece finally fits, when someone sees themselves differently in the mirror, when they realize they deserve to feel this comfortable and confident. Susan Beth's philosophy mirrors ours completely: celebrate the body, don't hide or reshape it. Whether you're working with her to capture your confidence on camera or simply looking for everyday pieces that make you feel like yourself, the foundation is the same—understanding your body, respecting where you are, and finding pieces designed with intention. We've had the privilege of working with Susan Beth for years, and this partnership reflects what we believe: that every woman deserves to see herself beautifully, whether in the fitting room, in the mirror, or through the lens. • The How & How Often of Bra Care

It's summer. It's hot. We sweat! So the million dollar question is how often should we wash our bras? Some lingerie insiders will tell you after every wear you should wash your bra. True of sports bras, but for everyday lingerie--who has time for that!? As a general rule of thumb, we recommend washing a bra after two or three wears. Sweat has a tendency to stain delicate fabrics while breaking down the elastane, so if your chest tends to perspire, you may need to wash your bra more often. We also recommend diversifying your bra collection . Wearing the same bra every day will make it break down faster and it will need to be replaced sooner. Always aim to give your bra a rest between wears. Having two or three in rotation is key . Bras respond better to gentle, non-chlorinated soaps and never, ever throw your bras in the dryer ! Hand washing is always recommended, but if you must we suggest a lingerie bag, delicate cycle, and cool water. Suelto offers Soak, a RINSE FREE handwash. Just soak your delicates for 20 minutes and hang to dry. Soak is great for silks and sweaters too! Remember that even though your bra may not look dirty, it does not mean it's not! Take good care of your bras and they will love you back with lasting support.

  • The Real Cost of Cheap Bras

Here at Suelto, we understand value. We also know that shelling out big bucks for a bra can be hard to stomach. But, ask yourself, how many cheap bras do you own that you love? For most of you, especially those of you with larger busts, I bet that answer is zero. What is the difference between a cheap bra and a quality bra ? You will compromise fit. Cheap bras have fewer parts therefore sizes are not only limited but also less accurate. Quality brands such as Empreinte and Prima Donna have over 30 components that comprise a single bra! These bras are hand-sewn by professional seamstresses. Those jeans that you pay $200 for have about 15 components. Cheap bras wear out quickly. You DO GET what you pay for. Cheap materials will stretch and degrade in just a few months of wear. The larger your breasts, the faster bras wear out. A quality, everyday bra will last a year. Some very high-quality brands will last one to three years! And if you happen to purchase a defective bra, these quality brands often stand by their product and replace your purchase. You may be supporting unfair labor practices. Cheap price tags are a result of cheap manufacturing and labor. Production is often carried out in third world countries and very little of the savings is passed on to the customer. Know that quality lingerie produced in developed countries is created by workers paid a fair wage. In fact, quality brands employ seamstresses that go through years of training. How much should you spend on a bra? As professionals in the business (with over a decade of experience now) we will tell you price is affected by bra size and design. Additional weight (large breasts) requires great architecture to maintain lift and shape. With this comes more fabric and pieces. If you have an addiction to beautiful French design you will pay for the designer’s crafted art, the fair labor wages, the quality materials, and shipping and duties to bring it into the States. Expect to pay between $70 and $180 for a bra that will feel like it was custom fit for you. Yes, you will find quality bras at Suelto priced under $55, but these bras have a narrower size range and less extensive workmanship. We find ourselves telling our customers “Shoes and bras are well worth the investment. It is better to have a few that are comfortable, make you feel amazing and that are worn regularly than a drawer full of lingerie (or a closet full of shoes) that makes you cringe.”

  • A Guide to Garter Belts & Stockings

Styles of garter belts and stockings are as endless as any other type of garment, but at Suelto , we make it easy for you. We generally have a couple styles of garter belts to choose from and two different styles of stockings. Still, this realm can be confusing! How do you wear a garter belt and stockings, you ask? Apart from giving you a tutorial in the store, which we are always happy to do, here is a simple guide. 1. Get a garter belt that fits you well at your natural waist or just below. This helps the garter belt keep up the stockings. Most garter belts have adjustable straps to tighten accordingly. 2. Stockings can range in size. Choose stockings that hit mid-thigh. At Suelto, we carry some thigh highs with silicone on the inside of the band. While this feature helps keep the thigh highs from slipping, they can be difficult to wear with garter belts due to the thickness of the band. This style doesn't even need a garter belt. 3. Order of Operation - Put on garter belt , attach stockings to straps, pinching the fabric of the stocking between the clasp (looks like mini overall clasps), then put your panties on over the rest of the ensemble. This last point is key, trust us! If your panties are on first, you will find yourself in a tricky, jammed-up situation. If you have any questions, stop by! We will show you the ins and outs of garter belts. Good luck and we hope to see you soon.

  • How should my bra fit?

An improperly fitting bra can be annoying or even downright unbearable. At Suelto, we are dedicated to helping you find the best bra for your needs. But even the best bra has an expiration date. A well-constructed bra should last one year of daily wear with two bras in rotation. Not all bras are created equal, of course. Fabric strength, band kickback and seaming are engineering properties that will provide exceptional support, extending the life of a bra. How do you know if it is time for a new bra? 1. Your band is too loose. Most of the support of the bra comes from the band. Bras function to lift from the bottom up while the shoulder straps help to keep the bra in place. A properly fit bra should have a tight enough band that wears parallel around the rib cage at the level of where the wires sit, if not lower. An indication of a loose or tired band is when you resort to tightening your shoulder straps to provide lift in the cups and find your band creeping up your back and straps digging into your shoulders as the day wears on. A new bra should wear tightly enough to stay in place with the clasps on the loosest setting. If you can raise your arms and the wires move or the band slips, it is too loose. A properly fit band should allow for 2 fingers to slip under the clasp with little to no pull back. As you wear your bra, the band will stretch. Slowly work your way in on the hook and eyes, tightening the band as needed and to prevent slippage. This helps increase the lifespan of your bra. At some point, you won't be able to tighten the band anymore. If your bra slides over your breast tissue as you move throughout the day, it is time for a new bra! 2. The cups are the wrong size. The gore of your bra, where the wires meet in the center of your bra, should lay flat against your sternum. You have two breasts, the gore functions to separate them. If these wires cross over each other, your cups are too big. If they don't lay flat, your cups are too small. Additionally, the wires on the side of your breast should lay flat against your body and wrap just behind your breast. Your breast tissue should rest inside your bra. Your cups are too small if your wires lie on top of your breast tissue. Your cups are too large if the wires wrap way back behind your breast tissue. A test to ensure you have the correct cup size is to lean forward and shimmy. If your breast tissue starts to work its way out of your bra, it is an indication that you either need to go up a cup size or choose a bra with a higher gore and less plunging style. 3. Your bra is uncomfortable. Do you constantly feel your underwire stabbing you in the armpit? Are you continually having to adjust your bra or breast tissue? Do you anxiously await a time in the day when you can take off your bra? If you said yes to any of these questions, you need a new bra. A properly fitting bra shouldn't poke or pinch you. It should move with your body throughout the day, keeping your breast tissue contained, so you don't feel the constant need to readjust. A new bra should be snug with a 'locked & loaded feeling' but not painful. It is perfectly normal for your bra to leave marks on your skin. You should, however, feel like you can comfortably move and breathe in your bra. You can extend the life of your bras by properly caring for them. 1. Sweat breaks down elastane. Wash your daily driver's regularly, every 3-5 wears. Wash your sports bras after every wear. 2. Rotate your bras. Give your daily driver's a 2-3 day break in-between wears. 3. Hand wash your bras. Use a delicate detergent, free of dyes and harsh chemicals. We recommend Soak, a rinse free detergent for your delicates. Simply soak your bras for 20 minutes then hang to dry. Our bodies shift throughout our lives, size ebbs and flows. It is important to reassess the fit of your bra every year or two. You can do this on your own or by enlisting a professional bra fitter. Determining the correct fit of a bra can be tricky. Each brand varies in sizing and collections within each brand may fit differently. In addition to sizing, it's helpful to know your shape. Getting an expert opinion can make an often painful process enjoyable. Stop into Suelto for a complimentary professional bra fitting, or click here to schedule one online. We keep fit notes for all our customers, so we can easily re-order your favorite bra when it comes time for a new one!

  • Stories from the Lingerie Store

Author: Harper Klay, founder of Shonkinite and creator of the Lingerie Shop Girl podcast Edited by: Molly Robinson, Suelto manager This story was originally published in the Fort Benton River Press. A smile entered the lingerie store. This was the kind of smile that lights up a being and a room. This smile belonged to a 20-something man that followed his girlfriend into the store. “When I was a kid, my mom would cover my eyes when we would pass this store, and now I have a reason to come in here!” I’m conflicted about this man’s comment. As enthusiastic and gleeful as this man was to be in the shop, there is an element of suppression and an insinuation that a shop window showcasing undergarments is not appropriate for the eyes of children. The comments people make about the store window reveal a conflict between women’s needs and societal taboos. We specialize in bra fittings, a service all women require, and we are on a mission to normalize our conversations around them. “If my nose wasn’t so big today, I would try on some lingerie” a woman recently said upon entering Suelto. This woman walked in with her friend, for whom she adoringly praised each undergarment she tried on. Yet, she was feeling self-conscious and applied that to her sense of worth to enter a dressing room. Shopping for lingerie is vulnerable and we do our best to make it comfortable and fun. Interactions lead to enlightening and occasionally funny encounters. Our customers share boudoir photos, newly augmented breasts, or stop by to process a recent struggle in their lives. We are introduced to friends, family, and even puppies. But it’s not always lighthearted. We see women navigate major life changes—from infidelity and divorce to mastectomies and breast cancer recovery. Breasts change with childbirth, medication, perimenopause, and menopause. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and we want everyone who walks through our doors to feel confident in their amazing body. Clothing is made to fit your body— not the other way around. You shouldn’t have to be a certain size to feel comfortable in your clothes. We are so much more than the number on a bra tag. There is no standard sizing and size numbers are often arbitrary. As fashion and technology evolves, professional bra-fitters are committed to continuing education. We often see customers surprised when they discover the cup size we pull for them. There is a common misconception that cup size is the same regardless of band size— for example, a 34B and a 36B are thought to be the same cup volume, just bigger around. This isn’t true. Cup size directly correlates with band size, so a 30C, 32B, and 34A are the same cup volume. When we pull a smaller band size for someone who’s been wearing one that’s too big, they’re often faced with a 30F or 30G. It can be a shock, but a 30F is the same cup volume as a 34D. Most customers become more comfortable with this new size once they realize how much better it fits and how much more comfortable it feels. The majority of lift and support from a bra comes from the band. If it’s too loose, you end up with shoulder divots and pain. A loose band means the bra moves independently from your body, causing wires to dig in and forcing you to adjust your breast tissue throughout the day. When your bra doesn’t fit properly, it can interfere with your life—whether you’re riding a horse, shopping for groceries, or simply moving through your day. What I most often see are women who are wearing the right cup size, but too large of a band size. Sometimes this is because the store they purchased from didn’t carry a cup size big enough, but often, women get fitted for a bra once—usually as a young adult or at a change point such as post-baby, and continue buying the same size year after year. Our bodies change throughout our lives, and it’s important to get refitted every couple of years, or at least after a major life event. Wearing properly fitting undergarments can transform the way your clothes look. We want you to leave feeling confident, comfortable, and ready to take on the world!

  • Part 3 of a 3 Part Series: Understanding Unlined Bras

Experience a t-shirt bra without the bulk Unlined bras are the perfect combination of elegance and expert engineering, often misunderstood in the world of lingerie. While some may think they offer less support than lined styles, the truth is that a well-designed unlined bra will provide better shape, lift, and comfort—bra engineering.  Worried about an unlined bra showing under your clothes? That’s where seamless options come in. Seamless unlined bras have smooth, seam-free cups that disappear under your clothes, offering a subtle, rounded shape while still letting you enjoy the airy, lightweight feel of an unlined style. Whether you’re exploring unlined bras for everyday elegance, a low-cut outfit, or a sexy addition to your lingerie collection, there’s a style to suit every preference and every wardrobe. SHAPE MATTERS   Unlined bras typically come in three shapes:  demi, plunge,  and full . Demi cup styles sit lower across the chest with wider-set straps and a higher center gore (where the wires meet between the cups). They expose a square neckline, offering better concealment of your bra under clothing. The vertical seam in a demi bra is what provides the lift. Unlined demi cups provide a wider range of coverage than their lined counterparts. If you need a really low cut bra for a specific outfit, an unlined demi cup may be exactly what you are looking for.  Plunge cup styles are triangular in shape, offering a bit more breast coverage, and feature a lower center gore and straps that sit closer together. If you have issues with shoulder straps slipping or a depression of the sternum, you may benefit from a plunge shape. This type of cup style can feature a fabric overlay that functions to help hold your tissue within the cup, preventing the spillage that leads to double boob. A vertical seam provides the lift.  Full cup styles offer the high center gore of demi cups and the full coverage of plunge cups, providing maximum support and stability. This style is best suited for those with larger breasts that are heavy and/or have less dense tissue. A full cup bra may be seamed or seamless and makes a great daily driver as the extra coverage provides great support throughout the day.   What is the difference between three-part cups and seamless cups ? Three and four-part cups feature seams that function to lift (vertical seam) and project breast tissue (horizontal seams) out from under the armpits. For heavier breasts, we turn to seamed bras, true feats of architecture and engineering, that minimize and slim the silhouette while keeping the weight supported by the band (never the shoulders).  Seamless cups are often heat molded to create the shape and lift of a seamed bra. Featuring a smooth cup free from seams, these bras hide under clothes beautifully. Seamless cups create a more subtle rounder shape. If you are interested in unlined bras, but still want your bras to disappear under your thinnest clothing, seamless cups might be for you.  LEARN MORE Curious about why cup shapes matter so much? • Part 2 of a 3 Part Series: The Everyday Essential

The bra that disappears under everything. A T-shirt bra is the ultimate everyday staple designed with smooth, lightly lined cups to ensure a seamless look under clothing. At Suelto, we prefer styles with minimal lining as they contour more naturally to your shape and virtually disappear beneath your wardrobe.    For moments when you're looking for a little extra oomph, we recommend the little black push-up bra : not your everyday but she certainly has a time and place in your foundations.   SHAPE MATTERS   T-shirt bras typically come in three shapes:  demi, plunge,  and heart . Demi cup styles sit lower across the chest with wider-set straps and a higher center gore (where the wires meet between the cups). They’re a great choice for women with fuller tissue at the bottom of the breast, since the open neckline doesn’t require extra volume at the top. If you often find straps slipping off your shoulders, though, demi cups may not be the best match. Plunge cup styles offer a bit more coverage, with a lower center gore and straps that sit closer together. Many plunge bras feature convertible straps or a j-hook for a cross-back option, giving you added versatility. Their fuller coverage helps keep breast tissue secure and supported through the day. A heart shape offers a sweetheart neckline and a shallow depth cup. This may be a great option for smaller, less dense breasts. Think mature tissue or post nursing. The shoulder straps are more narrowly placed and most offer convertible straps or a j-hook for a cross-back option. While we love the everyday ease of a t-shirt bra, we don’t usually recommend foam cups for most breasts sized H cup and above. Foam simply can’t offer the structure needed to lift and support beautifully. For fuller or heavier breasts, we turn to seamed bras, true feats of architecture and engineering, that create projection and shape while keeping the weight supported by the band (never the shoulders). No uniboobs, no shoulder divots. Just confidence and comfort.  LEARN MORE Curious about why cup shapes matter so much? • Part 1 of a 3 Part Series: You're not just a bra size, shape matters too.

The world of bras is confusing. We're here to educate, not just fit. Every woman is beautifully unique, and that’s something worth celebrating. Of course, those differences can make finding the right clothing (and especially the right bra) more challenging. At Suelto, we carry a thoughtfully curated range of shapes, sizes, and brands so every beautiful body that walks through our doors can discover its premium fit. When it comes to bras, shape matters just as much as size. Breasts can be close-set, east-west, fuller on top or bottom, or even vary from side to side. Density makes a difference too — heavier tissue needs more engineering and support, while smaller breasts may need a shallower cup to fully fill the shape. Even shoulders play a role: narrow-set shoulders can cause straps to slip, while petite frames may find straps run too long.   That’s why finding the right bra isn’t about chasing a number, it’s about finding a shape that truly supports, flatters, and feels good for you.   This week, we’re introducing Bras for Your Shape: a 3-Part Look at Bras. Over the next three weeks, we’ll explore two timeless styles - lined T-shirt bras and unlined bras - and how their different shapes can love your body back. Lingerie is more than just an undergarment — it’s how you show up for yourself. At Suelto, we believe comfort and confidence go hand in hand, and every woman deserves both. Do you want to learn more about how your bra should fit? Not sure of your current size or ideal shape? Our expert fitters are here to help, always complimentary. • Swimwear

From sleepwear to swimwear, Suelto carries so much more than lingerie. Swimwear is hard to find outside of the summer months in Montana, which is why we have swimsuits and cover-ups all year long! Our rationale? In Montana, we are always needing a suit. And often, the need is an afterthought. Whether it be that cruise in the dead of winter or the timeshare in Mexico, travel warrants a great suit. And of course, there is always the ski lodge and that overnight hotel stay with the hot tub and pool. Within a drive of Bozeman, we have the Chico, Norris, and Bozeman hot springs. We know we’ve resisted an opportunity because we didn’t have a great suit or forgot one. We want to feel confident in our swimsuits and luxurious in our cover-ups as we walk by the water. We carefully cultivate our swim lines with the fit, quality, and environmental impact in mind. We strive to curate a collection of functional and flattering swimwear that will last. Suelto has unique swimwear from Vitamin A, Marlies Dekkers, Bromelia, La Gotta, Gottex, Rosa Faia, and Prima Donna. These brands allow us to have a range of beautiful swimwear that fits and flatters all body types. We have everything from fun and skimpy swimsuits to full coverage suits sized by cup and band. We encourage you to do some forward thinking during the cool months. Are you traveling? Have a special holiday plan near the water? Or do you want to ensure you have something nice for cool nights at the hot springs? We can special order your size if we don’t have it in store, but please allow ten days to two weeks for it to arrive at your doorstep! Don't miss out on a fantastic experience because you are missing the right swimwear for the occasion. So come on by and try on a suit! We provide complimentary fittings and education on all aspects of swimwear.

  • Strapless Solutions

Do you have a beautiful shirt or dress you can't wear straps with? Sometimes you can show off your beautiful bra straps, but if you'd rather not, you may need a strapless solution. How do you know which bra or accessory is right for you? The tried and true strapless option, the strapless bra, is always a great choice. Strapless bras offer the most lift and support and are the best option for larger busts. Most options come with convertible shoulder straps to provide extra support in the halter, cross-back, or one-shoulder positions. There is the limitation of the supportive band- because the band wraps all the way around, the strapless bra won't work with your low back or backless garments. Backless solutions can range from the more shaping and slightly supportive NuBra, a sticky bra that clasps in the middle, to simple nipple covers. NuBra is a wonderful option if you can't wear a strapless bra but want to create an excellent shape and show off some cleavage. Place the NuBra further out to the side of your breast to enhance the décolletage. F and G cups have the option of adding Nu Lift Straps to provide lift for extra support. These tacky strips attach to the NuBra cups and lift from above...voila! If you have a piece that has deep neckline, the center clasp in the NuBra might not work for you. Though they provide no support, DIMRS nipple covers will hide your nips under the thinnest fabrics. They come in adhesive and non-adhesive options. The ones without adhesive function well in an unlined bra, swim top, or a tight bodysuit, while the adhesive ones will work with anything! You won't know what works best with your tricky pieces until you try them on with your strapless solutions. It is always recommended to bring the piece in tow when shopping for solutions. You are sure to find something that works for you and your outfit with a wide range of options.
