How do I care for my bras?

Accepted Answer

We encourage you to hand wash your bras in a lingerie-specific detergent. These washes contain ingredients that strengthen the elastic fibers in your undergarments, extending the life of your lingerie. Always hang your delicates to dry.

Our lingerie brands run wash tests and it is proven that your lovely underthings will love you longer, if you hand wash.

Our recommended lingerie wash is SOAK, which we stock at Suelto. Just as the name implies- you just Soak your stuff and go. You don’t have to rinse your delicates out – really. Because Soak is a low-suds liquid, the dirt and detergent come out in the water, and whatever is left in the item evaporates. When you squeeze out the water, all that’s left behind is a hint of fragrance that dissipates over time. Plus, it is environmentally-friendly, biodegradable and the bottles are recyclable and printed with water-based inks.

Stack bras one behind the other or hang them. Folding cups in half can damage their shape over time.

Give each bra a day to rest between wears. We recommend rotating through at least three everyday bras. As your bra stretches, use the tighter hooks. When the band rides up, it's time for a new bra.

What you may want to consider before we meet:
Bring along a fitted top to check the silhouette each bra creates. It's a great way to narrow down your selection while ensuring you choose something that you know you love.
Bring items from your wardrobe that you struggle to pair with an appropriate bra- summer tank or camisole, a strapless dress or sheer blouse perhaps? This is our expertise and we're happy to help!
If you are new to Suelto, your first fitting may take up to an hour or more. Requisite appointments may only require 15 - 20 minutes.

How should my bra fit?

Accepted Answer

A well-fit bra should feel supportive without discomfort. Here are the key signs of proper fit:
The band should sit parallel to the ground (not riding up) and feel snug on the loosest hooks—you should be able to slip two fingers underneath, but no more.
The gore (center front where the wires meet) should lay flat against your sternum.
The cups should fully contain your breast tissue without gapping, spillage, or wrinkling.
The straps should stay put on your shoulders without digging in or slipping off.

If you're experiencing fit issues—slipping straps, riding bands, gapping cups, or an uncomfortable band—you likely need a different size or perhaps, cup shape.
